Content
Physical organic chemistry is a branch of organic chemistry that deals with the relationship between the structure of organic molecules and their reactivity. The first part of the lecture covers thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of organic reactions and concepts for correlating structure and reactivity. After a short summary of the key concepts of molecular orbital theory, the different classes of pericyclic reactions and their stereoselectivity are explained. The last part of the lecture deals with photochemical reactions.
