Lehre - Seminar "Small Machines" - Allgemeines

Inhalt

This interdisciplinary seminar is offered jointly by lecturers from the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Students will learn the basic physical concepts underlying molecular machines, see examples of small synthetic molecules that behave like machines, and of the many powerful natural molecular machines.

The seminar will start with a series of introductory lessons, in which lecturers from the participating disciplines will provide general information about the topic. The following lessons will be organized by the students, who will present and discuss more specific concepts and examples in the form of short lectures, which will be based on selected publications. These lectures will be the basis for completing the module. There will be no additional examination.

The seminar will take place each Monday at 15:30 in lecture hall 23-182. The language will be English. Upon successful completion, 3 credit points will be awarded
